More Spacey Goodness

The folks at Royalty Free Music site premiumbeat.com asked if I would produce some VFX tutorials for them. To get the ball rolling I cooked up this Space Scene in Adobe After Effects.

The idea was to create a dynamic scene consisting of 2D elements with a 3D feel using only the native plugins and a few photographs. I was on my laptop in Peru and only had limited kit with me. It’s always fun to push yourself without plugins. I really missed Trapcode Particular for the star field on this one though 😉

I’ve found myself playing around with stereoscopic ideas for 3D displays and used this Space Scene as a test. Although I don’t go into stereoscopic development in the tutorial I do explain how the basic elements are combined to create the scene.
